So it was my lovely friend Meghan’s birthday coming up and I wanted to get her something where we could do something together rather than just giving her something.  I’ve been wanting to go to The Cookbook Co. for a while now to attend their cooking classes, but I kept forgetting about them.

Tikka Masala Pasta

Cooking with Kim

Hello Beautiful People!

I was craving pasta for the longest time and had a hankering for curry as well, so I decided to combine the two for a quick and easy lunch.  This made about 4-5 servings.

Tikka Masala usually includes tomatoes, cream, coconut cream and various spices.  I also opted for a brown rice pasta (both were purchased from Community Natural Foods).

I eye balled a couple of things, so I apologize in advance if the numbers are off!

2 Chicken Breast cut into cubes
1 jar (410ml/13.8oz) ofThe Curry Queen Tikka Masala
1 large clove of Garlic, minced
4-6 Mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/2 Zucchini, thinly sliced
1/2 Eggplant, thinly sliced
Olive Oil
1 Egg (optional)
Green Onion, for garnish

I of course cooked up an egg on top.  Love topping everything with a sunnyside or poached egg.  Hope you guys try this out!

Enjoy!

Shokunin is the new spot in Mission that serves Japanese tapas, ramen and donburi in the day, and izakaya-style skewers at night.  The restaurant itself is beautiful and sheek with lovely decor and an open space.  You can see into the kitchen where you can also sit at the bar and watch your food being made.  Hopefully John and I will be able to try this place out for dinner and get a taste of their skewers.

Hello Beautiful people!

A wonderful start to reading week where I got to finally go on an overdue date with Sharon (Lapetitteshar) and Cathy (Fortwoplz)  <3.  Missing Lisa (Lemonlimelisa) and Jenny (Hermoderncanvas).

Han’s Restaurant serves Sichuan style of food which means a lot of spicy dishes, which my friends and I were strongly craving.  They use a lot of Sichuan pepper which has a different spiciness than your jalapeno.  If you like spicy food, I strongly recommend trying Sichuan food!

One of our favorite places we go to experience during ABC’s of YYC was Il Sogno, which sadly closed down.  However, we were excited that Chef Neil McCue took over the location and turned the lovely space into Whitehall.  The reason we were so excited is because Neil McCue helmed Curlew in England when they earned a Michelin Star.  In all of North America, the via Michelin guide only rates restaurants in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago, which means it is hard to visit a Michelin restaurant unless you travel.
